SR15 pyranometer

SR15 First class pyranometer [Hukseflux Thermal Sensors]

Directly after release of the SR30 pyranometer, I worked on its first class counterpart to complete the new style pyranometer range. The style, introduced by SR05 and SR30, is characterised by the small footprint area and smooth shaped body. SR15 is designed in the same product envelope as the SR30 and uses the same set of accessoires like sunscreen and mounting. The body and sunscreen are designed to prevent accumulation of snow, which would interfer with the measurements.

Using the spring-loaded levelling base, the pyranometer can be attached to (near) horizontal tubing and surfaces. When mounted securely in position, the base allows for fine adjustment of the pyranometer levelling.

The SR15 pyranometer is the First-class brother of the SR30. First class refers to the instrument class; pyranometers are classified as second class, first class or secondary standard, where the latter provides highest measurement accuracy. In addition, SR30 provides high data availbility through its internal ventilation & heating system, preventing dew and frost on the domes. SR15 provides good measurement accuracy and is typically used for meteorological observations.
